BASS LAKE
Visit beautiful Bass Lake for fishing, water/snow skiing, or wildflower gathering—a camper's paradise. Take a guided tour on the Bass Lake Queen II sternwheeler (a one-hour tour). The Bass Lake Boat Club and the local Chamber of Commerce sponsor the annual 4th of July fireworks display over Bass Lake.

COARSEGOLD
Plan a visit to Coarsegold, on the South Fork Highway, a tiny thriving cattle town and home to both the Central Sierra Festival of the Arts and the Annual Coarsegold Rodeo.

FRESNO FLATS HISTORICAL PARK
Located in Oakhurst. Visit the historic buildings, jailhouse, and an 1868 log house. Open Sunday afternoons.

GOLDEN CHAIN THEATRE
Located in Oakhurst. 19th Century Melodramatic and Historic Theatre, Summer and Fall. The facility is also available to rent for conferences, meetings and weddings. Call 559-683-7112 for ticket information or visit the theatre web site.

NORTH FORK LOGGERS’ JAMBOREE
Plan to spend your 4th of July weekend in North Fork. Once a logging capital, North Fork is now the home of the Loggers’ Jamboree, which is held annually and is a major Central California attraction.

SEMI-ANNUAL MOUNTAIN PEDDLERS’ FAIR
The fairs are held the Sundays prior to Memorial Day and Labor Day in Oakhurst and offer antiques, food, arts and crafts, bargains and fun for the entire family.

SIERRA MONO MUSEUM
Tour the museum, operated entirely by Native Americans and dedicated to the preservation of Indian culture. Located in North Fork, the geographical heart of California. The Museum sponsors the Annual North Fork Indian Fair Days the first weekend in August.

SIERRA VISTA SCENIC BYWAY
Take a scenic drive through the Sierra Forest. Maps are available at the Visitor’s Center.

YOSEMITE HIGHWAY (Highway 41)
Drive up the Yosemite Highway and enjoy its scenic splendor year-round.

YOSEMITE MOUNTAIN SUGAR PINE RAILROAD
Take a ride on the Sugar Pine Railroad, which includes a narrated four-mile round trip through the Sierra Mountains. Located in Fish Camp, a popular winter snow-play area. At the Yosemite Mountain depot, plan to visit the free Thornberry Museum and Artisans Gallery.

YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK
Visitors to Oakhurst Shilo Inn are only minutes away from the southern entrance to the world-renowned Yosemite National Park (Highway 41). Ranger-led programs, natural history seminars, art and photographic classes, hiking, rock climbing, swimming, fishing, biking, horseback riding, rafting, golf and ice skating are just a few of the many activities available to the Yosemite visitor. The Sierra National Forest and the Ansel Adams Wilderness areas are nearby.
