CATACULA LAKE WINERY ~ 2001 NAPA VALLEY ZINFANDEL
A complex and intense Zinfandel with aromas of cedar and spices. This Zinfandel reflects its Chiles Valley flavors through to the finish with an abundance of briar-patch fruit and black pepper. A well structured and elegant wine. Opens beautifully to liberate hints of coffee and tobacco .

Harvest Date: September 20th-October 18th
Brix: 24.9 PH: 3.52 TA: .65 ALC: 14.8
Fermentation: Three separate yeasts: Pasteur Red, BRL97 & L2226. Three individual fermentation techniques were employed for both vintages with varying lengths of cold soaking & extended maceration
Cooperage: Vintage was aged for 15 months in small oak barrels. Four coopers provided barrels from America, France & Hungary

Classic Zinfandel aromas of ripe Blackberries with regional flavors of white and black peppercorns. Oak supports the wine with sweet spice in the nose and mouth, but does not override the fruit. The mouth is big, sweet and chewy with a long finish.
